Qatar participated by videoconference in the 26th meeting of the Customs Union Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States on Sunday.

Qatar was represented at the meeting by HE the Chairman of the General Customs Authority (GAC) Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Jamal, and a number of departmental directors of the authority.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of topics, including monitoring developments related to common customs law of GCC states, settlement and transfer of customs duties, examining the possibility for them GCC states to accede to certain World Customs Organization (WCO) customs agreements, in addition to discussing developments in the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program related to the Gulf States, and reviewing the lists of goods prohibited and subject to restrictions.
Heads of Customs Authorities and Services of GCC States also discussed the proposal to activate Authorized Economic Operator path in customs ports of GCC States for TIR card holders, and other matters. on today’s agenda.
The meeting takes place within the framework of the periodic meetings of the Customs of the Gulf States, which are useful for enhancing cooperation among GCC States, as well as import and export mechanisms as well as other topics and projects. related to international trade and common regulatory procedures between them.
