On Monday March 29, 2021, William Dennis Smith passed away at the age of 64. Dennis was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, to William and Helen Smith, where he spent most of his childhood. Living in Butte, MT from ’69 to ’75 and attending school, he then moved to Billings where in ’76 he graduated from high school. In 1977, he married Sue Kolterman, wife of 26 years. A dedicated employee and manager, Dennis has held several positions during his life. Most notable was RGIS Inventory where he met and befriended many business owners and operators in the Northwestern United States. He worked at Wells Fargo where he also developed close relationships over the last 15 years of his life, working in the loans department. Dennis valued people’s honesty and integrity, but above all a sense of humor, often calling for just sharing a joke he had heard. Loving simple pleasures, he enjoyed sitting around the table with his friends and family, chatting, snacking, and playing cards or dice. Dennis was an avid music listener, keeping abreast of the latest audio systems and other gadgets, as well as recently discovering and exploring the perks and frustration of Alexa and Siri. He also enjoyed motorcycle rides with friends on scenic country roads and often went to the shooting range.

He is survived by his two sons, Justin and Matt of Billings; older siblings Harry Lee of Enid, Ohio, and Kaye Galloway of Aurora, Colorado; and twin sister Vickie (Alan) Kuhlmann of Loveland, Colorado. There will be a pre-cremation visit from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday April 10, 2021 for friends and family at the Cremation and Funeral Gallery located at 29 8th Street West, Billings, MT. Condolences can be sent to the family at 1049 Nutter Blvd, Billings, MT 59105.
